Phase Change Material

Thermal Energy Storage is a heating or cooling medium which use/releases energy when needed. Sometimes, it can be a water tank to store the heat, where the water is heated at times when there is a lot of energy, and the energy is then released when we are short on energy. Thermal energy storage is in two forms, Sensible Heat Storage (SHS) and Latent Heat Storage (LHS) which depends on its material. Combined material can lead to good thermal performance. Phase Change Material (PCM) can have a large thermal energy storage capacity as a heat storage material. With a smaller volume and mass, PCM can store a larger amount of heat energy. The key benefits of PCM are; to reduce peak demand and level demand by storing energy, reduce CO2 emissions and costs, and increase overall energy efficiency.
